Bruce Arians: Carson Palmer Was 'Trade Of The Century'

Sep 22, 2016 8:37 AM

Nearly four years after the Arizona Cardinals acquired Carson Palmer for a sixth-round pick and a swap of seventh-round selections, Bruce Arians praised Steve Keim's work.

"Oh God, that was the trade of century by Steve Keim," Arians said.

Palmer went 8-16 over 24 starts with the Oakland Raiders before the deal.

He is tied with Tom Brady for the highest winning percentage (.750) among starting quarterbacks during his time with the Cardinals. During that span, he ranks fifth in passing yards per game (280.4) and eighth in passer rating (95.1).

Broncos Had Trade Interest In Case Keenum

Sep 8, 2016 8:40 PM

The Denver Broncos had interest in Case Keenum during the preseason and conducted trade talks with the Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams would have required a "huge pick or player compensation" to move their Week 1 starter.

Gary Kubiak has a familiarity with Keenum going back to their days with the Houston Texans.

The Broncos decided instead to make Trevor Siemian their starter at quarterback.

Eagles Trade 2015 2nd Rounder Eric Rowe To Patriots

Sep 6, 2016 1:18 PM

The Philadelphia Eagles are trading defensive back Eric Rowe to the New England Patriots in exchange for offensive lineman Josh Kline and a draft pick.

The Eagles are already in talks to trade Kline to another team.

Rowe was selected in the second round of the 2015 draft, which was overseen by Chip Kelly.

The 23-year-old was inconsistent, but showed enough promise to be considered a potential starting option heading into this season.

Rowe played safety and corner at Utah. The Eagles viewed him as a corner, but some evaluators thought he would make a better safety coming out of college.

Broncos Consider Trading Aqib Talib

Sep 3, 2016 7:41 PM

The Denver Broncos are reportedly making Aqib Talib available in trade talks.

John Elway denied the report.

"False," Elway told reporters. "(Talib's) name was never brought up anywhere."

Talib suffered a gunshot wound to his lower right leg in the early morning hours of June 5 in Dallas. He avoided surgery and was released from the hospital the following day.

Talib returned to practice with the Broncos Aug. 8 and was asked if he shot himself.

Vikings Acquire Sam Bradford From Eagles

Sep 4, 2016 8:59 PM

The Minnesota Vikings have acquired Sam Bradford from the Philadelphia Eagles for a first round pick and a fourth round pick.

The Vikings felt forced to trade for an established quarterback after losing Teddy Bridgewater for the entire 2016 season. Due to the severity of Bridgewater's injury, his status for 2017 remains completely unknown.

Bradford re-signed with the Eagles in March to a two-year, $35 million deal with $22 million fully guaranteed. The Eagles would be responsible for Bradford's $11 million signing bonus. The remainder of his contract with $20 million in base salaries and a $4 million roster bonus on March 2017 will go to the Vikings.

Vikings tight ends coach Pat Shurmur was Bradford's offensive coordinator with the Eagles last season and for two seasons (2009-2010) with the Rams.

Carson Wentz will become the Eagles' starter at quarterback. The Eagles traded up in this year's draft to select Wentz second overall.

According to Pro Football Talk, Bradford is "thrilled" by the trade to the Vikings.

Vikings Won't Jeopardize Future To Replace Teddy Bridgewater

Sep 2, 2016 8:09 AM

The Minnesota Vikings are without a clear-cut starting quarterback after Teddy Bridgewater suffered a season-ending knee injury, but that doesn't mean they'll mortgage the future to acquire one.

"The one thing that I will not do, and I promise you this, is put our organization in a situation where it's going to inhibit us or hurt us going into the future," Rick Spielman said.

The general manager then added: "By that, I mean people are asking for some crazy things. People think that you are desperate, and we are not going to do something that in my estimation, and talking with Coach Zim (Mike Zimmer) and our ownership, that puts us in a situation where we jeopardize the future of this franchise."
